K.M.R.M. Officials Visit Indian Ambassador

Kuwait Malankara Rite Movement (K.M.R.M.) officials and Very Rev. Fr. John Thundiyath met His Excellency Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador-Embassy of India, at the Indian Embassy Kuwait on 26th May 2021.

Mr. Alex Varghese – KMRM President gives a brief about K.M.R.M. and Rev. Fr. John Thundiyath explained the church activities. Mr. Libu John-General Secretary, Mr. Rana Varghese-Treasurer, Mr. Anil George Rajan-MCYM President and Mr. Babuji Batheri-Chief Election Commissioner were present. At the end of the meeting, we invited to His Excellency Mr. Sibi George as chief guest for the event of MCYM, Covid Warriors on 29 May 2021.

During the conversation His Excellency mentioned that several queries were received on this pandemic situation and vaccinations in India and whether those vaccinated in India can travel to Kuwait, what are the guidelines, parameters, etc. “We are aware of all the issues involved and likely to come up when Kuwait decides to allow entry of foreigners. Each of the issues have been taken up with concerned authorities,” Ambassador said.

Ambassador also noticed about the use of social media here in Kuwait. There are instances where some people are getting into trouble due to their social media comments. As citizens of the largest democracy in the world, we have a responsibility to respect each other, appreciate each other and understand each other, a responsibility to act as responsible and law abiding citizens. “When we are abroad, we have a bigger responsibility to obey each and every law of our host country and respect the customs and traditions of this land. Let me reiterate, under no circumstances we should knowingly or unknowingly, wittingly or unwittingly, violate any of the laws of this country, including in through use of social media,” Ambassador said.

KMRM thanked to His Excellency for Embassy continues its welfare activities even during the pandemic time. The Meeting was successfully finished with a photo session with His Excellency.
