FAIPS (DPS) Orchestrates Interschool ‘Sing-A-Thon’

Music is all about the delivery of an emotional experience with a talent in the art form where uniqueness is highly appreciated. Despite these trying times, FAIPS (DPS) keeps abreast with sentient ways to engage students in not just academics but also in the field of Music and Beat Boxing.

With the healing process underway FAIPS (DPS) organized an Online Inter-School Western Music Competition open to students of grades 9th to 12th from all Indian Schools in Kuwait. Eight schools of Kuwait participated enthusiastically in English Solo, Duet and Solo Beat Boxing categories. The entries received through YouTube links were judged by a panel of five eminent judges from UK and India. The first position in Solo Singing Category was awarded to Jayden Daniel Stanley (Indian Educational School).

The second and third positions were bagged by Micah Prince (ICSK-Senior) and Irene Janeta Sam (Carmel School) respectively. Duet Singing Category witnessed the show –stopping performance by Irene Janeta Sam and Ilene Benita Sam (Carmel School) clinching the first position while the talented duo -Santhra Bijoy and Agna Biju (Indian Learners own Academy) came close to secure the second position. Jayden Daniel Stanley and Irin Joby (Indian Educational School) bagged the third spot. In the Beat Boxing category, the Numero Uno position was taken up by Joshua Premjith (Indian Educational School) leaving behind his contenders Gowsik Rangarajan (BHAVANS Smart Indian School) and Johan Sanju Vaidyan (Indian Learners Own Academy) in the second and the third positions respectively.

The competition provided a platform to showcase the versatile talent of the budding artists and their interest in Singing and Beat boxing that marveled the judges immensely. The competition was a huge success due to the constant encouragement and support provided by the Principal Mr. Ravi Ayanoli. He extended special appreciation to Mr. Teodoro Rodrigues for conducting the competition online with impeccable quality and planning. The overall experience has been enthralling for both the host school and the participating schools.
