Kuwait reduced prices of 3,786 medicines since March 2015

Kuwait reduced the prices of 3,786 medicines since March 2015, Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah said. In response to a parliamentary question, Minister said that the Ministry of Health began studying the price reduction in 2014, coinciding with the Gulf price unification project.

Minister also said that all pharmacies are subject to supervision by the ministry, and legal action will be taken against any pharmacy which is found to be in violation of the drug pricing decisions as per Article 15 of Law 28/1996 with a prison sentence of no more than 6 months and a fine of 2000 dinars, or one of these two penalties.
