"Dance is the hidden language of the soul". Haven't you all studied about India's vast culture and of course as Indian students, we also would be attending classes on dance, classical music etc. Have you ever thought about the advantages we would get after studying an art form? Today I am going to tell you what I think studying classical dance would have benefitted me as I am a Bharatanatyam trainee.

1) I am happy that I am studying how to do Bharatanatyam steps.
First, before starting to dance I didn't even know how to do a proper step but eventually, I started to feel a little pain here and there and sweating up myself because I was not able to cope up with the other students. But after 2 months I started feeling good and was able to cope up. So slow and steady always wins.

2) Even though I am not from a Dancing family, I was able to study and participate in different competitions and shout out my hidden talent and the main thing was that I was proud that I am a dancer.

3) In Bharatanatyam after the basics we must learn some items or 10 min dances. So, day by day when we were taught new steps I must remember each step, and this made me so annoyed but, in another way, it increased my memory levels and concentration levels.

4) I was not a fit person. I looked a little bit fat, but my body showed little changes as I did Bharatanatyam steps as these steps involve bending of knees stretching arms and legs and it was kind of an exercise that helped me tone my body.

5) I became more and more flexible. I had bendy, stretchy knees and legs which helped me a lot as a dancer. As a kid, everyone wants to be flexible and able to do splits and bridges etc. is one main thing and my key to success was doing Bharatanatyam adavus.

6) I became more creative... We must choreograph our own steps and dances creatively, so using what I have studied I did, so if I did the same thing in curricular and co-curricular activities which made me a little more creative.

These were the 6 things I got through my Bharatanatyam dance classes, it does not matter how hard we are working it's about the benefits we are going to get."

Thank you
