It is only through labour and painful effort, by grim energy and resolute courage that we move onto better things.

-Theodore Roosevelt

Labour Day is celebrated every year on the first of May to mark the freedom on oppression of labours. It is a day to show our gratefulness towards the workers for all their hard work.

Kindergarten wing of Bhavans Smart Indian School celebrated this day on 2 May 2021 to teach the little minds about the dignity of labour and their importance in our daily lives. The theme for the day was to make handmade thank you cards for the labour day. The LKG and UKG children actively celebrated the day not only to respect the workers of every field but also to be grateful to them.

This special celebration was done devotedly as the teachers helped the children make Thank You cards which were then given by the children to whichever workers they know. Children expressed their love and care for them in the form of illustrations, words of greetings and appreciation, slogans, wishes, drawings on the handmade thank you cards. The teachers hence taught the importance of labour to children and instilled the value of labour as well.

Kids were tickled pink when they had celebrated the Labour Day along with their teachers. They dedicated this day happily to workers and labourers across the world. The bunch of cards that they made were not just cards, but they were true gesture of love for the workers’ dedication and commitment.

Ms. Rajni Menon, KG Supervisor, shared a message that the world is built on their contribution and all of them deserve equal respect from us, and thanked all the teachers and kids for their active participation.
