Sanskrit Learning App ‘Little Guru’ launched in Kuwait

Embassy of India, Kuwait, organized the celebration of Foundation Day of ICCR and launch of a Sanskrit Learning app – ‘Little Guru’ in Kuwait on April 11, 2021.

Delivering the inaugural remarks, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, His Excellency Shri Sibi George spoke about India’s rich cultural heritage and its rich & splendid diversity and remembered Shri Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister, and his invaluable contributions which included establishing Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Ambassador also gave a brief and succinct account of Sanskrit language and recounted some of its essential elements including a brief synopsis of its literary journey, contributions from a number of colossal figures of Indian literature, the special place occupied by Sanskrit; and also expounded on its eternal and inclusive role as a common heritage of all Indians.



The event included video messages from Shri Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Hon’ble President of ICCR and Shri Dinesh Patnaik, Director General of ICCR. Special testimonial videos from three ICCR Alumni, on their experiences in India, were shown during the event.

To promote Sanskrit language among students, scholars, Indologists, historians across the world, a specialized app for learning Sanskrit in a simple and efficient manner called ‘Little Guru’ has been designed by ICCR.



The app was launched by the Ambassador Shri Sibi George, along with Shri Rajpal Tyagi (PBS Awardee), Ms. Muna Al Faraz, Vice Chairman of Alarfaz holding Group, Mr. Sudheer KP (Coordinator of Samskritbharati Kuwait). This app will help people who are already learning Sanskrit or those who are desirous to learn Sanskrit to do so in an easy manner based on games, competition, rewards, peer to peer interactions, etc. This unique App combines education with entertainment thereby helping keep attention of the learner as well as encourage him/her to advance further. This App would help create awareness not only about language but also open the doors for people to access the rich cultural heritage of India The event witnessed enthusiastic response with people from different walks of life in Kuwait participating virtually.
