Kunafa Recipe Ramadan Special

Ingredients

1ptkd kunafa dough
Orange food colour
1tsp lemon juice & Rose water each
1 cup sugar
Cream cheese filling preparation::
1 cup milk 2 tbsp corn flour
2 tsp powdered sugar
4 tbsp Cream Cheese

  

METHOD OF PREPARATION::
1st step
Detangle the kunafa dough & add in 2 tbsp powdered sugar, Orange food colour 1tbsp. Incorporate dough with sugar & food colour well. Keep it aside.

2nd step
Cream cheese sauce filling preparation::
Mix 1cup milk, 2tbsp corn flour & 2tsp powdered sugar well. Put this mixture on fire, stir continuously on low flame to form a sauce with slightly thick consistency.
At this stage add in 4 tbsp cream cheese & 1 tsp vanilla essence. Cook for a minute more, then turn off the flame.

  

3rd step
Assemble kunafa dough & cream cheese filling::
Grease the baking dish with little ghee.
Spread 1inch of dough on the baking dish & press gently to make a firm base. Pour the cream cheese filling & spread evenly, leave the edges.
Top up with another layer of dough
Bake at 160'C for 20mins until the dough is crispy.

4th step
Preparation of sugar syrup::
1 & ½ cup of sugar
1cup water Dissolve well until to form a thin strand on fingers.
Add in 1tsp lemon juice & Rose water each. Turn off flame & keep aside.

5th step
Demould the kunafa on a serving dish, & pour hot sugary syrup. Allow to soak the sugar syrup for 10mins. Garnish with crushed pistachios.
