Bhavans SIS celebrates 72nd Indian Republic Day

Freedom in mind, Faith in our heart, Memories in our souls. Let us salute the Nation on Republic Day.

Bhavans Smart Indian School celebrated 72nd Republic Day with much pomp and fervour. It is one of the most popular national festivals of India. The emcees, Siya Hariprasad [Grade 11], Tanish Mahendra Mhase[Grade 9 Aries]facilitated this event excellently by a majestic introduction to the 72nd Republic Day Celebration on 26 January 2021.

Mrs. Albin Daisy, Vice-Principal of Bhavans SIS, was received by the BSS Parade with all the traditional pomp and pageantry and the Indian Flag was hoisted magnificently followed by Indian National Anthem; all stood at attention with pride and respect facing the flag.

Caren Suresh, a student from Grade 10, dignified the gathering by her grand welcome address and marked the day India became a sovereign republic. The celebration started at 8:00 AM in the Zoom meeting. It was telecasted on Facebook live too.

What is more, the full text of the Indian President Shri. Ram Nath Kovind’s speech on the eve of 72nd Republic Day was shared by Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Principal of Bhavans SIS. In his address to the nation, President Shri. Ram Nath Kovind thanked the farmers, soldiers, and healthcare workers for their contributions. He also lauded the scientists for their work during the pandemic and urged people to take part in the Covid-19 vaccination programme. The Chairman, Bhavans Middle East Mr.Ramachandran Menon addressed the gathering with his inspiring words of wisdom.

Emmanuel Kishore, a student from Grade 4 Taurus presented the significance of the day India became a republic. One of the prodigious Republic Day activities “Fashion Parade of Leaders’ Glimpse” was so reminiscent of our great martyrs and leaders who never gave up their principles and ideologies for the sake of freedom. It was so great that students showcased their voluntary participation, doing a little homework on these brave leaders, with the help of their parents and teachers.

Following that solo dance, group dance, solo song, and patriotic songs were highly commendable. It was so great and satisfying to see the students growing in love and respect for their country INDIA and their extraordinary zeal in patriotism and diligence in preparation, which were evident during the 72nd Republic Day celebration.

With a word of appreciation and applause to all the industrious students, Eshan Abdul Jabbar, a student from grade 3 Leo, proposed the vote of thanks to the gathering with a quote ‘On this special occasion, let us make a promise to our motherland that we will do all we can to enrich and preserve our heritage and our national ethos’. Wishing you all a very Happy Republic Day 2021!’
