Capt. Vikram Batra, PVC. once said,“ Either I will come back after hoisting the tricolor, or I will come back wrapped in it, but I will be back for sure. “Indian Army-When we utter these two words, our heads get down with respect and gratitude to their sacrifice and nobility. From the icy terrain of Himalayas to the scorching heat of desert, they guard us as their family all day and night without complaining. From the dawn of our independence, they keep us guarding from the intruders, terrorists and other external attacks. Since 1947, we have faced three major wars and in each case, even in worst condition, we have snatched victory from enemies with the help of our powerful, devotional and extremely talented Indian Army.

India celebrated its 73rd Army Day on January 15th. All Army Command headquarters celebrate Army Day to commemorate the country's soldiers.

It is on this historic day that General KM Cariappa became the first Indian to take charge of the Indian Army in 1949. He took over from General Sir Francis Robert Roy Bucher who was the last English commander of our nation's army.

Army Day is a grand celebration of India's military might and its unsung personnel.

To mark Army Day in 2021, the Indian Army has also organized a marathon – Vijay Run

Military parades are organized at various Army command headquarters.

These parades showcase various aerial stunts, bike pyramids, and so on. The ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ at India Gate is where the country as a whole pays tribute to the army. Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi is the main venue for the parade. The bravery awards and Sena medals are also given on this day.

Every time when a soldier goes back after holidays, families puts up a mask of 'I'm all okay', though waves of anxiety perturbs the walls of their minds. Though we speak volumes about patriotism, when it comes to someone close to our heart, we become selfish. Because we never know if they will come back

wrapped in the tricolour.

To the brave hearts who have made supreme sacrifice in service to the nation ,to the valiant men and women of the Indian Army, we will remain forever grateful to our soldiers our heroes without capes .

Jai Hind!
