Ambassador Sri Sibi George paid floral tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's large portrait put up at the embassy premise.

"It is a great occasion as the nation is paying tribute to the great leader of India. Netaji played a great role in awakening the youth to make India a great nation" Ambassador Sibi George said.

The embassy will be organising a series of events throughout the year as part of this celebration. "This includes various addresses, quiz competitions and various other programs, which will be announced in due course," Ambassador said.

To honour and remember Netaji's indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation, the Government of India is celebrating his birthday on January 23 every year as 'Parakram Diwas'. This is to inspire people of the country, especially the youth, to act with fortitude in the face of adversity as Netaji did, and to infuse in them a spirit of patriotic fervour.
