Oh the pandemic COVID-19!!! How it was an eye opener for all of us. It taught us some important life lessons which we already know but forgot in the busy materialistic fast moving life. Our rich country which attracted Western countries to travel thousands of miles by sea just to have business dealings has forgotten its own rich heritage and culture. Be it raw material, be it hard working people our country has it all. But cheap Chinese products made us lazy. The pandemic has come at the right time, to make us realize the importance of being self-reliant. India has the power to become global manufacturing hub and for it we need to give preference to our local industry. To protect its local industry, to give the necessary support to local initiatives, “The Make in India “initiative was launched by Prime Minister in September 2014. It is as part of a wider set of nation-building initiatives. Devised to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub, Make in India needs to be taken more seriously by the Indians. Though there is visible momentum, energy and optimism; and its opening investment doors, multiple enterprises are adopting its mantra. But we need to believe in our potential that we can built a self-reliant INDIA. The government is with us to support us, we need to start more manufacturing units. The common people of India need to support these business by buying the products. When we are proud of our products and buy them, it gives encouragement to the entrepreneurs. Also, for ease of doing business, the regulatory policies have been relaxed to facilitate more investments. Across various regions of the country; six industrial corridors are being developed. Industrial Cities will also come up along these corridors. No doubt cost of local products will be more but with demand as they will do mass production, prices will come down. It’s a crucial time for all Indians. Local industry, enterprises has the capacity and capability to bring back India’s lost glory. But they need to use recent technology and train the artisans and workers on it. We need to use e-commerce and fintech solutions to solve the problem of lack of market.

The COVID-19 has taken away the job of hundreds of Indians. They are back to their roots and starting small enterprises. Together “We Can and We Will” make India self-reliant, bring back its lost glory and make India global manufacturing hub. Jai Hind.
