Renewal of work permit after 65 years only for specialized professions

As the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) stopped the renewal of expatriates' work permits above 60 without a university degree, local media reported that those with a university degree could renew their residence permit only up to the age of 65. Those who are above 65 will have to prove they are graduates is rare specializations such as in specialized medical professions, consultants and other specialties which the country needs.

However, those who are 70 and above, their residence permits cannot be renewed. There is no renewal even for expats with a university degree since the new system at the authority does not accept the renewal requests.
