India's Health Minister Dr Harsha Vardhan virtually addresses Cancer Awareness concluding ceremony in Kuwait

Dr. Harsha Vardhan, Honourable Union Minister of Health and Family welfare, Science and Technology & Earth sciences Government of India addressed, Samarop, the concluding ceremony of “Know Cancer Better”, a 10-day medical awareness campaign organized by Centre for India Studies (CIS-Kuwait) in association with the Indian Doctors forum (IDF), Kuwait and Kuwait Medical Association on virtual platform.

The Minister extended the congratulatory note from the Government of India to HH the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for the continuous prosperity of the people of Kuwait under his benevolent leadership. He also congratulated all frontline health professionals in Kuwait who served the humanity with selfless determination at the time of the Covid Pandemic.

Dr Harsha Vardhan emphasized the strong Indo-Kuwait relationship, deep rooted in history that has stood the test of time. He also added that there was great scope for both countries to increase collaboration in the field of health & medicine under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.

The union health Minister pointed out that Indian diaspora has been the torchbearers of humanitarian principles propagating the Nation’s long-held belief, ‘The Whole World is One Family' and congratulated Center for India Studies in organizing such awareness campaigns. He further added that organizations like CIS play a major role in creating a social environment for the peace and well-being of Humanity and such endeavors compliment the efforts of the Government.

CIS President Vibheesh Tikkodi presided the function in which H.E Sibi George Ambassador of India to Kuwait was the Chief Guest. Dr Ali Al Musawi Director Kuwait Cancer Control Center and Vice President Kuwait medical Association was the guest of Honour. Dr V P Gangadharan , Founder of Cochin Cancer Society delivered the keynote address. Mrs Muna Alfraj, Co-Founder of Harmony House, the President of Anjuman-E- Burhani Dawoodi Bohra Community in Kuwait, Mr Yahya Bhaisaheb Vaziri and Dr Vinod Gaikwad, First Secretary, Indian Embassy gave the felicitation speeches. Certificates were awarded virtually to the associations and the doctors.

Mr. Sreejith Nair, CIS General Secretary welcomed the gathering where Ms. Nisha Dileep directed the virtual event. Mr Mahadevan Aiyar, advisor of CIS , Mr Sudheer Menon Executive Member Spoke on the occasion. Mr. Mahendra Prathapan, Vice President of CIS Kuwait, Dr. Surendra Nayak from CIS Kuwait and Dr. Amir Ahmed from IDF Kuwait handed over appreciation certificates to the associations and facilitating Doctors. A vote of thanks was proposed by executive member, Mr. Vijeesh.
