Ambassador met Kuwait Investment Authority head in a bid to promote "Invest India"

In a bid to promote "Invest India", the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sibi George held a meeting with Mr. Farouk A. Bastaki, Managing Director and Board Member, Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).

Both sides had discussed various means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the investments domain.

Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) is one of the five largest sovereign wealth funds of the world. Last year there were reports that KIA is keen to triple its investments of $5 billion in India by entering areas such as infrastructure, airports and highways.

Within a few months of taking charge as Indian Ambassador, Mr Sibi George had organized a series of events in Kuwait under "Atmanirbhar Bharath" theme to introduce various investment sectors in India. Several Kuwaiti businessmen had attended these events.
