IES Holds Business Quiz-2020

The Commerce and Business Studies department of Indian Education School, Kuwait hosted The Business Quiz for students of grades 11 and 12 on 26th November 2020 on the online platform Zoom. The preliminary selection was held on the preceding week with a variety of questions based on general knowledge as well as school portions.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Binoy Mathew, Head of the Department, Social Science and was attended by the Economics students of grade 11 and 12. Seven teams of 2 participants each eagerly took part in the six rounds of the quiz, which included identify the logo, find the full form, identify the country of origin of companies, identify the personality, and finally, the rapid fire round. The contestants competed with unbridled zeal and zest and the winners were declared as Rohan Sunil (12 D) and Nidhi Murali (11D) with a total of 60 points. The first runner-up was Team G which comprised Chris Braden (11D) and Theertha Krishna (11D) with an impressive score of 50 points. Finally, the audience participated enthusiastically in the final audience round -choose the right logo.

Mrs. Anselma Tessy, Senior Vice Principal and Mrs. Meenakshi Nayyar, Vice Principal Middle wing, graced the occasion. Mrs.Anselma Tessy inspired the students with her candid words of encouragement. Mr. Samuel Hani and Mr. Sushant Suren oversaw the organizing committee which consisted of a bunch of passionate Grade 12 students of the Commerce stream.

“It was a great experience and I have learnt a lot.”, said Rohan Sunil, one of the winners of the event. The students and participants thanked the department of Commerce and Business Studies for the opportunity to learn more about the world of business, bringing a wholesome end to the day.
