Kuwait Karinkunnam Association, Kalika and BDK Organises Blood Drive to mark the 64th birthday of Kerala

Blood Donors Kerala Kuwait Chapter organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with Kuwait Karinkunnam Association and Kalika science and literature fraternity to mark the 64th birthday of Kerala, a state of India and to pay tributes to the late Emir of Kuwait, the revered leader, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.

A total of 144 people donated blood at the camp, which was held at the Adan Cooperative Blood Transfusion Center, from 1pm to 6pm on Friday, 6th November 2020.

The camp was officially inaugurated by Joshi Maripuram, patron of the Kuwait Karinkunnam Association. Manoj Mavelikkara, patron of BDK Kuwait extended a felicitation message. Kalika Basheer, Deeptesh, Rajan Thottathil and Jason Vichatt greeted the donors.

No matter where you are in the world, people maintain a strong emotional attachment to their homeland and mother tongue. Here also, as the event was organized in connection with the birthdate of Kerala state, most of the participants attended the camp in the traditional Kerala attire to reflect their love to the motherland and to highlight the cultural heritage of the state.

Blood donation is definitely a lifesaving mission, but beyond that, it has another significant dimension as well. It conveys a message of unity of human race across all the man made boundaries, which separate the human race into fragments. BDK always emphasizes this message and camps are organized on important dates, in this perspective of social harmony, mutual sharing and coexistence.
