Diwali-The Festival Of Lights

How beautiful is the day,
Of the festival of lights.
Lights glowing everywhere,
Children bursting crackers
and some dancing with joy.
My home sweet home,
looks so wonderful
on the day of Diwali.

Paper lantern decorates the wall
Beautiful rangolis on the floor.
And we all help ourselves
to yummy sweets on Diwali.
Uncles and aunts,
friends and cousins,
all come to share, the joy.
And a scene of reunion.

Vivid colours of garments, garlands
decorating themselves and others,
feeling of reception and peace,
spreading the warmth and love.
And as the crackers
create patterns on the sky,
we all look upwards,
awaiting eagerly for the next.
