Diwali or Deepawali is considered India’s biggest and the most important festival.

According to popular belief, when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after his exile, the first thing he did was, worshipping Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laksmi. Since then, the tradition of worshipping Laksmi and Ganesh on Diwali started and has now evolved into a religious custom known as Diwali puja on the night of Diwali. Also, to celebrate the return of Lord Rama, houses are decorated with lit earthen pots called 'diyas' and different types of crackers are burst.

TOPIC - SAFETY MEASURES WHILE BURSTING CRACKERS

Amidst all the fun and frolic, you should not forget safety. During the celebrations, fire crackers can be dangerous when not handled properly. It is important to follow certain measures in order to make sure that you and your family members are safe.

We would advise you to observe the following precautions while bursting crackers this Diwali:

1.Always buy branded firecrackers: Always buy branded firecrackers from licensed shops. Buying sub-standard firecrackers can be harmful to the safety of you and your family members.
2.Keep a bucket of sand and water nearby: While burning crackers, keep a bucket of water and sand nearby so that burnt crackers can be disposed easily.
3.Wear cotton clothes : While celebrating Diwali and burning crackers , make sure that you are wearing attires made of cotton that do not catch fire easily.
4.Burst crackers in an open area: Bursting crackers in closed and heavily populated areas is dangerous. Always choose an open area to avoid mishaps.
5.Avoid alcohol while bursting crackers: Avoid drinking alcohol while bursting crackers.
6.Store crackers in a safe place: Storing crackers in boxes made of cardboard and polyethylene bags is dangerous.
7.Keep a first aid kit ready: Keep a first aid box nearby the crackers bursting area. Also, keep the contact numbers of emergency responders ready.

Follow the safety precautions that we have mentioned above. Wishing you a Prosperous and Happy Diwali.
