Security campaign started to arrest residency law violators

The Public Authority for Manpower, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Kuwait Municipality, started a series of intensive campaigns on random market sites in the country targeting workers who violate the labour and residency law.

The joint teams carry out security campaigns on random markets in Khaitan, Jleeb Al Shuyoukh, Farwaniya, Wafra, Kabad, Jahra and other areas through prior monitoring of these gatherings. According to Al Qabas Arabic daily, in less than a week, authorities arrested more than 100 violators.

In Jleeb, authorities arrested at least 30 expats who are on article 18 or 20 who work in places apart from where their sponsors are and are violators of residence law. In Kabad and Wafra areas, 25 workers were arrested selling foodstuff, vegetables and fruits in the makeshift market.
