The file of residency violators in the country has become more complicated than before, local daily Al Qabas reports. According to the report, the authorities classified the residency violators as two teams, the first is the 2019 offenders, and the second is the pre-2019 offenders. Both of them are not entitled to amend their legal status even if the fines are paid. Except for the parents of the citizen, the husband and children of a Kuwaiti woman, the children of a Kuwaiti, and the domestic labor of citizens are obliged to leave the country.

The number of violators of the first section is estimated at about 50 thousand, while the number of violators of the second section - those who violate the previous year - is estimated at about 90 thousand.

The daily quoting sources reported that the 2019 offenders only had a deadline to leave the country safely, but not to amend their status. However, the pre-2019 violators had many opportunities to amend their legal status by paying the fines owed to them and obtaining valid residency, and they did not take advantage of it.

According to the report, the concerned departments in the Ministry of Interior are awaiting the green light to pursue violators and apply the law without exception to eliminate this phenomenon.
