Bhavans Indian Education School held an informative and interactive career counselling session, exclusively for the Commerce stream students, on the scope and prospects of the courses related to the stream and the opportunities available in India for pursuing higher education in it on October 13, 2020 at 5.00 p.m. on its virtual platform. Mr. U.N. Shankar Ram, the Founder Director of Grey Matter Academics, Ltd., a well-known educational institution in Chennai which prepares students, mainly from the Middle East, for Indian Chartered Accountancy and ACCA, was the resource person.

The session commenced with the welcome note delivered by the School Counselor, Mrs. Anju Jacob who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Shankar Ram for volunteering for the fifth time to enlighten the young minds of IES about the available scope pertaining to their subject - Commerce. Mr. Shankar Ram revamped the thought process of the Commerce students with motivational quotes that drummed up intense interest and aroused great curiosity in them to remain highly active throughout the session. He emphatically stated that success can be achieved if one knows how to handle it with patience, knowledge, hard work and discipline. He discussed the vast opportunities available to Commerce students and told them to be updated on the changes happening in the educational field. The purpose of the session was complete when he authentically talked about the eligibility and the other requirements for becoming a Chartered Accountant. He emphasized that the dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant will surely come true if one is prepared to be dedicated and working hard. He said the word ‘impossible’ is ‘possible’ for a student aiming at becoming a Chartered Accountant, and he urged the students not to be demotivated by some candidates who make several attempts to get through the finals in the CA exams. Following that, he explained the procedure for seeking admission and virtually displayed the recent press releases regarding the enrollment in the foundation course. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Susanth K.V., a member of the Department of Commerce, who expressed his profound gratitude to the management for providing the Commerce students an opportunity to know and understand themselves and the world of work related to the Commerce stream in order to make their educational, career and life decisions.
