Indian Doctors Forum Kuwait (IDF) conducted official condolence meeting

Indian Doctors Forum Kuwait (IDF) conducted an official condolence meeting on 1st October 2020 to express their deepest and heartfelt condolences to the highly esteemed Al Sabah Family and the people of Kuwait on the sad demise of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of the Sate of Kuwait.

The meeting was conducted on a virtual platform and was attended by His Excellency the Honorable Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Shri Sibi George and members of the forum.

The meeting started at 16.30 hours and was convened by IDF President, Dr Amir Ahmed with recitation of the Holy Quran followed by a moment of standing up in silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Dr Amir Ahmed conveyed the condolence message praising the vast contributions done by His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah in his capacity as the Amir of Kuwait. He expressed that IDF will forever be indebted to His Highness and it is the biggest honor and most treasured moment for IDF when His Highness bestowed his blessings and patronage to IDF Annual event since 2012. His Highness was a true Humanitarian Leader of the world and a very noble soul. Dr. Amir ended by saying our grief knows no bounds and we express our solidarity with the people of Kuwait.

Speaking on the occasion, Honorable Ambassador - His Excellency Shri Sibi George expressed his condolences and emphasized on His Highness’s contributions in strengthening Indo-Kuwait relations. His Excellency announced that Government of India had declared 4th October as a day of mourning in respect of the departed leader and all official events and celebrations stood cancelled and the Indian flag would fly at half-mast. The strong bilateral ties between India and Kuwait was evidenced by the immediate condolences expressed by our Honorable President, Honorable Prime Minister and Honorable External Affairs minister on the sad demise of the late Amir of Kuwait. His Excellency, Shri Sibi George attended the swearing in ceremony at the National Assembly wished Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah for his new office as the Amir of State of Kuwait and hoped to further strengthen bilateral ties between our two great countries.

Dr Anila Albert then took the audience through a befitting power point presentation on His Highness’s life journey studded with innumerous pictures from archive’s depicting different events of his political career. She also enumerated the various awards and accolades including the most prestigious “Global Humanitarian Leader” conferred by United Nation in Sept 2014.

Dr Jagannath then delivered the IDF Condolence message on behalf of all the members of IDF expressing their deep grief and appreciating his generous contributions as a global leader.

The Ex-Presidents of IDF Dr Ramesh Pandita, Dr Riaz Khan and Dr Vinod Grover also expressed their condolences which echoed the above messages and they mentioned in unison that His Highness has left us but will forever remain in our hearts.
