Indian Embassy held condolence meeting on the sad demise of HH late Amir

Embassy of India, Kuwait, held a condolence meeting on the sad demise of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, late Amir of the State of Kuwait, at its premises on Wednesday, 30 September 2020, at 0900 hours.

All the officials and staff members of the Embassy were present on the occasion to pay respect to the departed leader.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador talked about the immense contributions of His Highness in building the bilateral partnership between India and Kuwait and about his special care and affection for the Indian Community in Kuwait. Ambassador read out the following messages of condolences by Hon’ble President of India and Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

Condolence Message of Hon’ble President: “Deeply saddened at the demise of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait. He was a great statesman, humanitarian leader and close friend of India. My condolences to His Highness’s family, Kuwaiti Government and its people in this time of grief.”

Condolence Message of Hon’ble Prime Minister: “My heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait. In this moment of grief our thoughts are with the Al-Sabah family and the people of the State of Kuwait. Today, the State of Kuwait and the Arab world has lost a beloved leader, India a close friend, and the world a great statesman. His Highness played a leading role in strengthening our bilateral relations, and always took special care of the Indian community in Kuwait.”

The Embassy remains closed for public services for three days (30 September to 02 October 2020). The national flag flies at half-mast at its premises, as a mark of respect for the departed leader.
