The Essence of Great leadership is Influence not Authority
The tremendous roles that students aspired which were made possible through their mesmeric talents and accomplishment were conferred on 14th September 2020 in a virtual Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council of The Indian Community School Kuwait- Khaitan.
The special ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. The Core Senate of ICSK Khaitan consists of student members and senate advisors. The first virtual power investing ceremony of the school took a turn at experiencing the deep beauty through the eyes that witnessed it and the privilege to drench in the celestial aura of dignitary’s speech. During the pandemic situation, the ICSK Khaitan introduced a very distinctive virtual election to the children for the wise selection of insignia of authority and power for the senate through ICSK mobile application and the members were chosen wisely and judiciously.
The day’s special programme was made stellar by the presence of the dignified Chief Guest Brigadier Sushil Bhasin who served in the army for 34 years and who is versatile in the roles of time investment strategist, professional speaker and an author. The other dignitaries are the principals of ICSK branch schools- Dr. V Binumon Senior Administrator, Mr. Rajesh Nair, Mrs. Sherly Dennis, MR. K Gangadhar Shirsath, Vice Principals Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Dr. Mary Isaac, Deputy Vice Principals Mrs. Mini Shaji, Mrs. Sushmeeta Prakash marked their gracious presence.
The Programme commenced with the recital of the verses from Holy Quran. Then the choir led the gathering through school prayer followed by Kuwait National Anthem. A warm welcome was extended to the assembled by the Principal Mr. K G Shirsath, the driving force behind the ceremony, shared his happiness in introducing the chief guest Brigadier Susheel Bhasin and the Principals of all the branches of ICSK. He congratulated the newly elected senate members and motivated them by stressing upon the innate abilities of children with which they can very well shoulder the responsibilities.
This year turned unforgettable as the conferral was executed by the parents who felt immensely proud in honouring the children for their new roles. The students’ council took oath of office administered by the school principal Mr. K G Shirsath. The year’s promises and the decision to keep up the sincerity in their just begotten position were read out by the Student Senate Members. The Chief Guest of the occasion Brigadier Sushil Bhasin addressed the august gathering. He captivated the children and teachers by stressing upon the leadership qualities which can be executed. He also advised the children to imbibe the leadership qualities and make the best use of their skills. He made the students understand that a true leader is an influencer and stressed upon the art of influencing and urged the students to use their influencing skills. He also threw light on the three skills- Creativity, Imagination and Innovation which one should adopt.
A token of love and appreciation was presented to the chief guest by the principal on behalf of the ICSK family. To add beauty to the occasion, an inspirational song was rendered by the senate members. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the newly elected President of School Senate, Master Yusuf Tanveer, followed by the National Anthem of India.
