NIA Hindi Toastmasters Club recently organized an online “Slogan Writing Contest” as part of club’s Open House. More than 100 guests joined this online event from Qatar, India and Singapore. During the contest, the guests were additionally entertained by the poetry recitation by well-known guest poet Amit Sharma who joined from India as chief guest. Later other artists like standup comedians Sumit Kakkar and Rahul Giridhar joined directly from India to entertain the audience with their satire and jokes. Standup comedian Mamta Babbar from Qatar mesmerized the guests with her splendid performance.

More than 20 participants took part in the contest. The contest was conducted in two rounds; Semi-final and final round. In a tough competition, Ms Poonam Tanwar secured the first position while Mr Avaneesh Agarwal and Ms Shalini Verma were declared winners for second and third positions respectively. The contest showcased the impromptu skills and talents of participants who were shown more than 3 posters to write the Slogans. The contestants were evaluated by Chief Judges Surya Narayanan, Sameer Moosa and Soniya Jadav along with a panel of anonymous judges. District 116 director Thayaan District Admin Manager, Ravi Shankar and Division B Director, Riana Pinto graced the occasion.

The event was anchored by the club President Dr Meenu Parashar and ably supported by Kumaran C S ( Area 7 Director) and K P Murali. The event was coordinated and well supported by Trilok Sharma, Sunita Saini and the club’s executive committee members Komal Bhandari, Alka Chaudhary, Asha Sehgal, Nasreen Bano, Nahid Kausar and Latika Pant.

NIA Hindi Toastmasters Club provides a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn fosters self-confidence and personal growth. The club also aims to promote the Hindi Language amongst its community.

The contest was organized as part of an open house by the club to raise the awareness amongst the public about the benefits of joining Toastmasters.
