” In learning you will teach and in teaching you will learn” – Phil Collins

Teachers are just like our gurus who inspire us and motivate. They play a role in education for helping students to learn new things.

Teachers’ Day is celebrated in India on 5th September every year to remember the First Vice President and the Second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Teachers Day was established on 1994. The First teacher in the world was Savitribai Phule. She is also the first female teacher in India, our country. In this Pandemic, teachers are working hard for the schools they teach and also for the students. Day and night goes through but our teachers keep on doing their tasks. Teachers are not just any ordinary being but they are the torch bearers.

We think that our educators do not teach just for earning money but indeed they teach us from their hearts. My teachers are doing a lot of hard work for the future leaders of the world. They ignite the spark in the formative years of our lives. Sudha Murthy, an Indian Engineering teacher has touched so many hearts with her valuable lessons of life. Interestingly, her grandmother was her first student. She could inspire an old lady to realise that age is no bar for learning. Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam was an Indian aerospace scientist and politician who always used to inspire people with his beautiful speeches. Mother Teresa was an Albanian- Indian nun and a missionary who inspired the people with her Nobel Peace-prize. Teachers are not only those who teach us in colleges or schools. There are so many people around us who inspire us and we call them teachers.

Every teacher has inspired me a lot but Mrs. Vinitha Pratish, my teacher from ‘Srishti School of Dance’ is my role model. Though I am a North Indian, yet my passion to learn classical South Indian Dance is all because of my dear teacher. I have imbibed the diverse cultures in this short journey of classical dance in the past seven years.

To conclude I must say that each teacher from Kindergarten to middle school have shaped me in the journey of my life. I must express my sincere gratitude to all my teachers!
