A teacher is a friend, philosopher and a guide who holds our hand, opens our mind, and touches our heart. The contribution of a teacher cannot be ignored at all. In many countries across the world, teacher’s day is a special day where teachers of schools, colleges and universities are honored. The date varies from country to country. The universally accepted world teacher’s day is on 5th October. In India, teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th September and this tradition started from 1962.
This is when Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born. He was a philosopher, scholar, teacher and a politician and his dedicated work towards education made his birthday an important day in the history of India and all over the world. We remember the great work of this exemplary person on this day. Teaching is the most influential job in the world. Teachers are known to shape the mind of youth and without knowledge no one can exist in the world.

A teacher’s profession is very great for the student because they become the idol for every student. All over the world, the mother comes first as the teachers for her children. Teachers are the ones who prepare children to become great citizens of tomorrow. The role of teachers is vital in our life. They exert tremendous influence upon the society. Every school comes up with different activities to celebrate this special day. Some of the common activities that form a part of the teacher’s day celebration in schools include enacting the part of one’s favorite teacher, dance performances, skits and singing. The teachers are made to sit comfortably as the audience while students give these performances to entertain them and add joy to this special day. I would like to conclude by saying that, Teachers day is certainly the day which offers a respite from the mundane school routine and gives the opportunity to indulge in light joyful activities. It is a great time to strengthen the student-teacher bond.

So a very happy teacher’s day to all teacher’s across the globe.
