Science International Forum (SIF) Kuwait conducted Annual Science Gala, 2020

The much awaited Annual Science Gala for the academic year 2019-2020 organized by Science International Forum (SIF), Kuwait was conducted on 22nd August, 2020 on virtual platform taking into consideration the present COVID 19 situation. Dr. Ashutosh Sharma (Hon’ble Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India) was the chief guest and the Keynote Speaker at the function. Dr. S K. Varshaney (Advisor & Head, International Cooperation, Department of Science & Technology) graced the funtion along with other eminences from India and Kuwait. Sri Jayant Sahasrabudhe (National Organising Secretary, Vijnana Bharathi) delivered felicitation speech. Sri. Abga Raveendranath (Organizing Secretary, SIF Middle East) along with SIF officials of other GCC countries attended the function.

Dr. Sharma emphasized the need for cooperation and team work along with competitions for personal and society’s growth and reminded the students on the need to grow asking questions. He added that learning is a never-ending continuous process and urged them to be a self-learner prioritizing the social commitment and responsibility. Selected Sastra Pratibhas were given chance to ask questions after the keynote speech.

Children’s Science Congress 2019 and SPOT competitions were honoured at the function. The prestigious ‘Acharya J. C. Bose Sastra Puraskar’ for the best performing school was awarded to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kuwait at the function. SIF cordinators announced that the trophies and certificates will be delivered to the school once the students are back to school. More than 6000 students from 20 Indian schools in Kuwait participated in the Sastra Prathibha Contest this year. Mr. Prasanth Chandran (President, SIF Kuwait) extended a warm welcome to the gathering and Mr. Mahesh Selvarajan (Vice President, SIF Kuwait delivered the vote of thanks.
