Perspectives does matter

“We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen.”
— Paulo Coelho

We all have problems, don’t we? In this fast-paced world, people are busy and are filled with many worries too. For a parent, it might be about the future of their kids or how to run errands. For a student, it might be how to score better grades or how to reach the expectation of their parents and the teachers.

Well, when we are in a tough situation and when we try explaining it to someone, it is quite difficult as they don’t understand and may take it as a light problem. Trust me most of the problems are caused due to misunderstanding. And the cause of misunderstanding is looking through your perspective only. You may be correct but hear to the other person’s thoughts too because their opinions should also have importance. We all at a young age complain about how our parents shout for small mistakes. But as we grow up, we realize that they were correct the whole time about certain people or situations. People will never correctly understand something until it happens to them. Why is that so? See, different people have different perspectives. When a problem is introduced, we see it in our perspective instead of seeing it in a whole which may cause the negligence of small things which may have big impacts.

Imagine that you are in an art exhibition and there is an eye-catching painting on a huge canvas. What if you go close to the painting and look at it? Will you be able to enjoy the painting? No, because looking at a painting from one angle will not help you see the full picture nor help you enjoy the picture. It’s okay if you go near it to focus on the details but to enjoy the beauty of the picture, you will have to see it as a whole. The same thing applies to life. “If you want to enjoy life, look in all angles otherwise you cannot live your life to the fullest.”

For example, let us take the current situation in the world. COVID-19 is a deadly disease caused by the Novel Coronavirus. Yes, I agree that earth is getting better because the disease has almost house arrested more than half of the people of the world thus cutting down pollution rates. Yes, I do agree that we have exploited Mother Nature and nature is taking its toll on us. But wait, rather than saying ethics and philosophy right now, aren’t we supposed to help others who are in need? Humans have learnt their lesson, now it is our turn to help each other and ask for mercy from Mother Nature. Many families, many countries are suffering due to the outbreak. The question here is why? And the answer is really simple. As people stay at home as quarantine, the economies are dropping down rapidly as many businesses are closed down, employment loss, purchasing power parity is decreasing and the list goes on. And for the people who have gotten the disease, their families are suffering as they are to be isolated and they get ostracized. On one side people are suffering due to the outbreak and on the other hand, people are going around saying ethics and philosophy stating that nature is getting better. The irony is that anyone can be a victim to this virus, tomorrow if not today. So every single person must unite and fight the disease back and help the deprived with love and care.

Or let’s take racism, at this point, racism is one of the most controversial thing happening in the world. “We were all humans until race disconnected us, religion separated us, politics divided us and wealth classified us.” Pravinee Hurbungs and I quote. We don’t choose to be born in a particular race or gender. All people are the creation of God and everyone has equal rights. Understand, these races were made up and there is only one race and that is the HUMAN RACE. Men and women are equally powerful. Don’t limit their powers by our patriarchal thoughts. Judge them through the deeds they do, not by their colour or gender.

We will never truly understand the struggles each person is going through. Remember to realize how hard your struggles are for you, the other person feels the same way about his or her life. We are all trying to make our way in this world, so make it easy on everyone and don't judge with only your perspective.
