Steps begin to control marginal workers above 60 years of age

Public Authority for Manpower has begun verbal instructions to renew the “work permit” for those who have reached the age of 60 or above and without a university degree for one year only, local Arabic newspaper Al Qabas reported. The daily also added that the authorities are giving verbal information while renewing that from next year onwards the residency will not be renewed.

Al Qabas also reported that everyone who received a one-year renewal would not be able to renew next year unless the existing instructions are cancelled.

This move is to control marginal employment in the country. According to statistics, there are 83,562 residents in the country who have reached the age of 60 and do not hold university degrees.
