No public celebration for Independence Day at Embassy; Online activity for public

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and to follow the local government's guidelines regarding social distancing and other related regulations, there will not be any public function at the Indian Embassy premises on August 15th as part of India's Independence Day.

Indian Embassy, in a press release, informed that Embassy will be live streaming the flag hoisting event and the speech of Ambassador online.

"Esteemed Community Members, Pravasis, and Friends of India are requested not to visit Embassy on Independence Day, 2020 i.e. August 15th, 2020 and watch the celebration at their home", Embassy said in a press release.

Meanwhile, Embassy has planned an online "patriotic song" activity for the public.

Embassy of India requests resident Indians in Kuwait to record a patriotic song and send it to Embassy. The selected video will be uploaded on Facebook (@indianembassykuwait) and Twitter (@indembkwt) handle of the Mission. Recording can be sent to Embassy at [email protected] with details of names, age and passport number.

The consent of participants for sharing of their videos by the Embassy of India, Kuwait, on its official social media platforms is inherent and included in their act of submission of their entries. The videos should adhere to the laws, rules, and customs of the host government. Participants submitting the videos for this online programme are solely responsible for copyright regulations if any. Their undertaking that the videos don't infringe on any copyrights or intellectual property rights is inherent and included in their act of submission of their entries.
