My Life…………My “Virtual” Life

“To be the best you must be able to handle the worst”, said.........somebody! Seriosly..........it is an anonymous quote. Anyhow.........I’m inscribing about how my life has changed, rather ‘evolved’ to fit the “LOCKDOWN-LIFESTYLE.” Right now, almost all of humanity, 188 out of the 196 countries have reported cases of the Covid-19 / Coronavirus / n-Cov / SARS-Cov-2......whatever you want to call it. And naturally I’m at home too......so should be you.

My life has changed, literally the biggest lifestyle changes ever! Now everything is virtual, even exams and competitions....... not to mention......SCHOOL. Well, School (as far as I am concerned) was amazing......for the first few days, then the struggle was real – We got our books delivered to our home, Notes started, Full-Fledged lessons, No Interactions with our friends during class, Sitting on my sofa all day, looking at the screen of my iPad, burning my eyeballs off........not the best for your health I would say. Online classes are a good way of learning and allows for a flexible schedule and environment, but it also makes it easier to procrastinate.

Since online classes have started my motto has been – “Chill......I have a week until I have to submit that assignment.” And that shouldn’t be yours. I have a lot of due assignments but procrastinate anyway........ cause who’s gonna find out?

As an extrovert who looooooooves talking and interacting with people, and you can’t do that very often in virtual classes. It’s a living nightmare. I have not seen any other human being (except my parents) in 3 whole months.......it feels like 3 whole decades.

And nowadays instead of the usual......”I’m going to school”, It is.......” I’m going to START school.” ......... in the sense that I’m going to start my online meeting.

Whenever I get bored of “going to school”, I just stare endlessly, endlessly out of the window. I like doing that for some reason, watching the cars whizz by (especially police cars and ambulances nowadays.) ......... It gives me a piece of mind, almost like I’m meditating. You should try it once! Sometimes my friends call me up, asking at what I was staring at during class. Another thing I like to stare at during class is my fish tank......It’s just wonderful and peaceful to watch fishes swim by, wishing I could do the same, as I longed to go for a swim (I’m a swimmer sooooo.......).

Recently I tried growing Micro Greens, basically it’s like the baby version of literally any plant and supposedly has all these brilliant health benefits and claim to be better than the full grown plant itself. Well............it grew............and then died. I made a salad with them to see what all the fuss was about......and let’s just say that I’ll never try it again.

Another quarantine activity is going “camping” ............ indoors. Yes, you heard me right. Grab that tent or make yourself a huge pillow fort and camp in it.........or even make it your retreat!

Staying at home has led me to another of my favourite activities of all time......... reading......... not just reading your average story books, but binge reading the Harry Potter books all over again, but this time there’s a twist. I’m listening to these books...... on Pottermore...... J.K. Rowling’s Muggle fan club. Listen to prominent figures in the Muggle world read us the best book series ever written. The list starts with the chapter one of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, read by Daniel Radcliffe......... The man who played Harry himself and many other celebrities (mostly actors from the Harry Potter movies and actors from Broadway.)

I bet that every single person has tried cooking during the pandemic. I was a great home-cook even before the days of the virus, but this lockdown has got me cooking gourmet, Gordon Ramsay.........who? I guess I can cook better than I walk now. Due to limited stock of groceries and non-availability of exotic ingredients, I have learnt to cook minimalistic, yet scrumptious food. (But the only food I can’t cook properly is RICE! Yes...... with all the sophisticated foods I make, I can’t yet cook RICE.)

With our minds off food right now, let’s talk about memes.
Yes, you heard me right......memes...... people are so bored that they end up making the cringiest memes ever. Catch a glimpse of this.

Or this.

Is it just me or are people out of their minds!
So.........I’m also going to end with something random, a quote....by my favourite author of all time – J.K. Rowling: Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it. – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
That quote gets me real deep.
And, as always #StaySafeStayHome.
