Kuwait Team wins at the Middle East Regional Debaters Conference 2020

In a proud moment for Kuwait, our home team was crowned the champions of the Middle East Region Inter-District Toastmasters Debate Conference on June 20th, 2020 ! Kuwait’s Elite Debaters Toastmasters Club created history and a legacy at the Synergize Debaters Conference 2020 ( held online this year ), by being the First Club to ever Win at this event while surpassing seasoned Debating Clubs from Dubai, Bahrain & Qatar.

The Winning Team was led by Team Captain & Club President Prince George, (working with Agility Logistics), Abir Noueihed ( working with National Bank of Kuwait ), & Allen Paul ( working with CyberMAK Information Systems ). The team Coach & Resource Head was Noor Mohammed, who works with Strytech AI W.L.L. Elite Debaters, Kuwait beat First Div A DTM Club, Bahrain in the Semifinals and Take DeBait Club, Dubai in the Grand Finale at the Debaters Conference.

Toastmasters Intl., USA is a non-profit U.S based organization for developing Public Speaking, Leadership and Communication skills. There are various clubs in Kuwait, Elite Debaters is the only Debating focused club and was chartered on June 29th 2015 by DTM Don Prades, DTM Bobbie Hoxit, DTM Noor Mohammad and DTM Wafaa Salman. From 2015 until date, Elite Debaters have maintained the spirit of debating as the vanguards of a venerated skill. Debating demands extensive research and a commitment to truth. Debaters need to have excellent analytical and listening skills, exceptional Critical thinking abilities and great public speaking techniques as well.

The ongoing Elite Debaters Club Championship July – Sept 2020 is garnering a lot of attention from an International audience as well and have new members from Qatar, Malaysia & Africa as well. The club members meet twice a month and are open to membership from professionals who would be interested in developing their Debating, Public Speaking & Leadership skills, and who would like to take a higher pedestal onto the bigger league of competent professionals.
