Kuwait officially approves "Kuwait Mobile ID" digital civil ID

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Anas Al-Saleh, today issued a decision approving the digital civil card issued through the application "Kuwawit Mobile ID" in defining the identity of the individual in all governmental and non-governmental transactions.

Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) earlier launched an online civil ID app "Kuwait Mobile ID" using which citizens and residents can carry their civil ID on their smartphone.

The decision also stated that the application of "Kuwait Mobile ID" provides safe access to governmental and non-governmental electronic services and as the approved signature for any electronic transactions.

The expired civil card must be renewed in order to activate the services available in the "Kuwait Mobile ID" application.

The decision is effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
