Parliamentary Human Resources Development committee is preparing to hold a crucial meeting this week to prepare a report on the demographic file to the National Assembly for voting after the Legislative Committee approved the proposal for 'Quota' on nationalities.

Although there is a consensus between the two authorities regarding the reduction on the number of expatriates, which exceeded 70 % of the population, local Arabic media reported that there is a variation regarding the proportions of communities in the proposal.

This is specifically regarding the proportion of Indian and Egyptian communities, as the proposal put a percentage of the Indian community that does not exceed 15 %, and Egypt at 10 %. The total number of The two communities currently exceeded 1.6 million, and it is very difficult to reduce the two communities to the percentage set in the proposal.

The parliament's Human resource development committee chairman Khalil Al-Saleh said that the committee is likely to hold a meeting this week to study the proposals related to the demographics. The committee is expected to submit its report to the national assembly within two weeks.
