Bangladeshi lawmaker accused of human trafficking arrested in Kuwait

Criminal Investigation Department in Kuwait arrested a Bangladeshi parliamentarian named (MA), who is widely known as "Kazi Babol", on charges of human trafficking and money laundering.

According to local Arabic channels, he was arrested from his residence at Mishref Area on Saturday night.

Earlier it was reported that the Bangladeshi national, who was an ordinary employee of a cleaning company in Kuwait, later started his own cleaning company. He later bags award for several cleaning projects in Kuwait and bought around 20,000 workers from his country. Later it was accused that each Bangladeshi worker paid between 1,800 and 3,000 dinars and he pocketed approximately 1100 crore Indian Rupee. He later became a member in the Bangladeshi Parliament and is also on the board of directors of a large bank in his country and that he shuttled between Kuwait and Bangladesh.
