1 year grace period for expats outside the country to enter Kuwait

Authorities increased the grace period to 1 year for those with valid residency to stay abroad due to the exceptional circumstances imposed by the Corona virus crisis.

At present, any expat with valid visa must return to Kuwait within 6 month. However as the corona crisis created an exceptional circumstances where the global travel is in a standstill, Kuwait authorities extended this grace period to 1 year, local Arabic newspaper Al-Rai reported.

Earlier, IIK reported that any expatriates, whose visa are expired, will be automatically granted a temporary residency for 3 month till August 31st. This will be applicable for those who are currently inside the country. This auto extension is also applicable to those who are unable to renew their residency due to fingerprint.
