FUNLIA – Virtual Fun Fest May 25, 2020

PATHANAMTHITTA DISTRICT ASSOCIATION’s Entertainment saga of Virtual Holiday Fest “FUNLIA” organized by its efficient and effervescent Ladies’ Wing and conducted on Social Media Platform moves on majestically with rising number of participants each day, enthralling all, imparting knowledge and creating a new world of experience to School Children of Kerala diaspora in Kuwait.

3rd day of FUNLIA witnessed the beauty and sweetness of FOLKLORE SONGS, a unique form of art of Malayalee’s way of life and a major component of Kerala’s cultural heritage, in the person of the richly gifted versatile artist, Shri. P.C. GOVINDANKUTTY, FOLKLORE ACADEMY AWARD WINNER, Folklore Research Scholar and an exponent of Folklore Songs, who came as the Chief Guest of the day’s Program and lead performer with his “Song and Recital” ("???????, ?????????") Program.

To repeat an earlier statement, the objective of PATHANAMTHITTA DISTRICT ASSOCIATION in conducting this type of program is to restore the vitality, morale and esprit of children living under the shadow of long COVID enforced humdrum and colorless holidays and to inspire them to use the free time in creative and fruitful activities. With wide variety of programs presented by experts, artists and learned people, who have excelled in various fields of society, in its FUNLIA Program being staged from 23rd to 30th May, the Association also intends to introduce to the children a new world that exist outside the realm of Classroom lessons.

The 3rd days’ Session began with the opening presentation and introduction by our versatile Executive Committee Member Shri. Reghubal Thengumthundil. Thereafter Shri. Govindankutty, began his discourse and interactions with the participants which lasted for over 3 hours during which he shared knowledge on wide aspects of countryside life and practices, origin of folklore and the types of instruments used in folklore song recitals. By his melodious recital of Folklore Songs and making the children singing along with him, Shri. Govindankutty was able to procreate a mesmeric world of new experience for the participants.

Five members of Kuwait’s prominent Folklore Artist Group ‘POLIKA FOLKLORE KOOTTAM” who were present added luster to the program with their lively participation throughout.

Association Secretary Shri. Vinu Kallali rendered vote of thanks. President commended Shri. Govindankutty for his participation in the FUNLIA Program and his and his family's artistic talent and wished him all the best in his efforts in the dissemination of FOLKLORE SONGS.

FUNLIA of 25th May was witnessed by about 50 participants.
