Union Minister promise to arrange flight from Kuwait for people of Karnataka

Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, D V Sadananda Gowda has promised to arrange a flight from Kuwait to Bangalore or Mangalore International Airport within 10 days.

In a video conference with leaders of various Kannada associations in Kuwait, Minister assured Kannadigas residing here that India government will arrange flights to Bangalore or Mangalore within 10 days. He assured that the aircraft would be arranged in a phased manner and exact schedule will be provided shortly.

During the video conference organized by Tulu Koota Kuwait, President of Tulu Koota Mr Ramesh S Bhandary explained the situation of about 50,000 Kannadigas living in Kuwait and requested early repatriation of them affected by COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting requested India government to arrange flights for the people of Karnataka stranded in Kuwait, specially those with medical emergencies, Pregnant women and those who lost their job during this pandemic.

Leaders of other Karnataka associations including Kuwait Kannada Koota association's Rajesh Vittal, Kuwait Canara Welfare association's Steven Rego, Karnataka Muslim Welfare association's Abdul Naser Khan, Kuwait Bhantara Sangha's Guru Hegde, Kuwait Billava Sangha's Krishna S Pojari and Indian Muslim Association's Jafar Sadik attended the meeting with Minister.
