The Director-General of Kuwait Municipality conducted a review of the work of municipal teams posted at the security checkpoints to ensure the food delivery workers working for restaurants hold permits and follow health requirements. The inspection is carried out in collaboration with the Special Forces to ensure the food delivery workers do not violate the rules.

The Municipality has issued 4,260 permits for food service delivery workers in the country.

During the campaign, authorities arrested 12 workers as they were not sponsored by the restaurants they work for. They are residence law violators because they work for others, rather than their sponsors.

The security sources said most of them are domestic workers. They have been referred to the concerned authority and the sponsors have been summoned for interrogation.
