Death toll reaches six at Al-Mutla housing project site

The total death toll in the accident at Al-Mutla housing project construction site in Kuwait reaches six, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) announced today.

The rescue operations were completed at the site where workers were trapped under huge heaps of sand the day before. Death toll climbed up to six people. Four of them are identified as from Nepal. Three others had been rescued immediately at the construction site, KFSD added.

The accident happened on Wednesday, when workers were engulfed with huge heaps of sand at the construction location.

Earlier yesterday, the Public Works Minister and State Minister for Housing Dr. Rana Al-Faris has tasked the formation of an investigative committee to investigate the incident.
