SMCA Kuwait creates history staging Mega Margamkali with 876 dancers

Prominent community association in Kuwait Syro Malabar Cultural Association - SMCA created history by performing their traditional Margamkali dance performance with largest number of participation.

Almost 876 people participated in the mega dance performance held at the Kaifan stadium on Friday, February 7th. The performance was part of the yearlong silver jubilee celebration. The mega performance lasted about 25 minutes where around 876 people in traditional Christian attire and accessories danced gracefully around the lamp.

Margamkali is an ancient Indian round dance of the St. Thomas Christians community based in Kerala state.

The program titles "Shukran Al Kuwait" also pays its homage to the host country Kuwait. The event was attended by HE Sheikh Duaij Al Khalifa Al Sabah, Indian Embassy first secretary Sri P P Narayan and many other dignitaries. SMCA President Thomas Kuruvila, General Secretary Biju Anto, Treasurer Wilson Vadakkedathu and other officials coordinated the program.
