Kuwait's Amiri Diwan on Saturday organized a marathon to commemorate national celebrations, as the country this year celebrates its 59th Independence Day and 29th Liberation Day, in addition to the 14th anniversary of the ascendency of His Highness the Amir.

The marathon is the third event to have taken place this year to usher in the national festivities, the undersecretary of Kuwait's Amiri Diwan Fatma Al-Amir told KUNA.

The marathon will be divided into three categories, with awards given to the winners in each division, she added, pointing out that all participants will receive a commemorative medal as well.

The marathon, one in a myriad of events in store to celebrate the national events, is an opportunity for Kuwaiti youngsters to demonstrate their patriotic devotion, added the official.
