ASSP-Kuwait Chapter held Technical Meet on Prevention and Management of Cancer

As part of ASSP Kuwait Chapter’s WOMEN IN SAFETY EXCELLENCE (WISE) committee’s goals and objectives, several activities / awareness campaigns were organized in the recent past for the benefit of the community.

ASSP WISE committee held technical meet on topic “The crucial role of physical activity in prevention and management of cancer” for the Women professionals. The program was held on 12th November 2019 at the Best Western Hotel, Mahboula. The goal of the program was to bring awareness among the community about the impact of physical activity on cancer prevention.

Mr. Sunil N.S., President ASSP KC welcomed all for the program & Mr. Safdar Khan, treasurer gave an introductory presentation on the ASSP KC Chapter operations.

Presentation on "WISE Committee" and its activities in Kuwait was imparted by Mrs Janet Najare, WISE Committee Member. She introduced the key note speaker Dr. Amel Gamal Ibrahim.

Dr. Amel delivered brief presentation on the described topic. Cancer awareness is absolute essential; one of the main highlight of the session was to encourage the importance of early detection and regular screening to ensure safety & saving of life. She referred to the importance of healthy food habits & regular exercise for prevention of Cancer.

As a token of appreciation, ASSE Executive Committee & Dr. Sheikha Al Fajjam, Head WISE Committee handed over memento to Dr. Amel.

The Awareness session was very much interactive and it was followed by Question & Answer session. Take away gifts (First aid box & fire alarm) were sponsored by M/s Safety & Fire Experts & was distributed among the attendees.

Around 50 members, including ASSE Kuwait Chapter member’s spouses & ladies ASSE member, participated in the awareness program. The awareness session concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs Zahida Farooq, Deputy Head WISE Committee. The meet concluded with the dinner.
