10th Annual Kata Championship by Shito-Ryu School of Karate Kuwait

Shito-Ryu School of Karate (SSK) Kuwait had organized its 10th Annual Kata Championship on Friday 15th November 2019 at Kuwait Karate Federation. Three hundred Fifty competitors (boys and girls) participated and thousands of audiences witnessed the event. As expected, competitors were eager to attend the tournament and new champions were discovered. Kyoshi Prem Kumar, the Chief Supervisor for the entire event, who is a well-known Karate Master in Kuwait and India. He is one of the Senior Referee and Judge of World Karate Federation (WKF), Kyoshi Prem, a man with Vision & Mission for Karate. It’s with his immense support and patience, the school has reached to this level of more than thousand students and fifteen masters under his guidance.

The event kicked off with the National Anthem of Kuwait and India, Sensei Milan Eapen who was the MC of the event welcomed the gathering followed by Introduction of our school by Shihan Vinod. Kyoshi Prem demonstrated a kata and showed about the scoring system and important points to be noted while performing kata to the participants. The major highlights of the event was the presence of World Karate Federation Referees (WKF) and Kuwait Karate Federation (KKF) Referees. Felicitations were awarded to eight New DAN one Black Belts. Presence of our Chief Guest, Mr. Harish (Manager of Land Rover) made the event more colorful.


Shihan Vinod and Shihan Santhosh was the official host of the event who ensured the smooth flow of tournament while Shihan Ajith Kumar and Sensei Binesh Kumar was assisting as Match Area In charge. Sensei Cijo took care of arena and participants. Shihan Sivasuthan & Sensei Sreekumar took care of all event activities. Shihan Vimesh, Sensei Poonacha, Sensei Sudarshan, Sensei Milan took care of all scoring procedures. Sensei Arjun, Sensei Arun, Sensei Sumesh, Sensei Bipin, Sensei Shinu, Mr. Suncie, Mr. Anish, Mrs.Prem, Mrs. Milan, Mrs. Sreekumar, Mrs. Sivasudhan, Mrs. Biji, Mr. Makbool, who supported the whole event with excellent teamwork, thus ensured one and all to make it a grand successful event of 2019 on fourth quarter. 10th Annual Kata Championship.
