MoI eyes proper mechanism for selling drones

The Criminal Security Sector at the Interior Ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, will soon implement a mechanism for selling
drones (unmanned aerial vehicle).

According to Al-Jarida daily report, the Interior Ministry had earlier specified the types of drones along with the speed and height sold through registration. The source explained if anyone wants to purchase a drone, his full data should be registered as per the template prepared by the Interior and Commerce ministries while a copy of his civil ID should be submitted along with the drone’s specifications.

Sources added this also applies to importers of drones in coordination with the General Customs Department, indicating the importer should mention the quality and size of the drone in the customs declaration. If the specifications of the drone do not match the data in the customs
declaration, the item will be confiscated and a smuggling case will be filed against the importer, the source warned.
