Kuwait’s government submits resignation

Kuwait’s prime minister His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has submitted his cabinet’s resignation to the His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a government spokesman said on Thursday.

The resignation came after Kuwaiti lawmakers on Tuesday submitted a motion for a no-confidence vote against Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid al-Jarrah al-Sabah, who is a senior member of the ruling Al Sabah family.

Kuwait government is headed by a prime minister selected by the Amir, who has the final say in state matters.
