BDK and Kalika hosted joint blood donation camp.

BDK Kuwait Chapter organized a Blood donation camp at Jabriya Central Blood Bank in association with Kalika science and Literature fraternity. The camp, which was held on Friday, October 11, from 2 pm to 6 pm, was attended by fifty plus donors , that included Kalika’s members and supporters .

KALIKA is a group of youngsters, and the objective of the fraternity is to organize discussions and debates on various topics of relevance, to encourage the people to adopt advancements in science and technology for the betterment and wellbeing of the society. As a burning candle emancipates light and warmth, Kalika urges its members to radiate affection and care for the depressed and destitute around them. The donors left the camp with contentment and happiness that they could extend the gift of life to those who are awaiting blood in various hospitals in the country.

Nimish Kavalam, Rajan Thottathil, Manoj Mavelikkara and Murali S. Panicker had felicitated the donors, while Muneer PC welcomed the gathering and Basheer Cheruvadi delivered the vote of thanks.

Ranjith Master, Vinod, Rajesh Lal, Arun Kumar, Rajesh R. J, Mansoor Ali, Shafi, Sreeshankar, Basith, Shafiq, Sathish Govind, Arun Vijayan, Ashish T. John , Ramesan T. M, Ragi, Dhanya Jayakrishnan and Anita Nair led the event effectively.

By organizing frequent blood donation camps,BDK Kuwait aims to ensure that the Blood Banks have adequate blood in case of emergency and to spread awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. The 16 camps held, till october in the current year, had helped the Central blood bank to acquire 1172 units of blood. BDK Kuwait has also been able to provide blood to many patients in case of emergency.

The next two events, as a part of BDK Kuwait's monthly blood donation campaign, are scheduled at Jabriya Blood Bank from 2 pm to 6 pm on November 1 and December 6 respectively.

BDK, a Kerala based Social Media Fraternity is actively campaigning on Voluntary Blood Donation in almost 10 countries worldwide, including Kuwait.
