Telangana Chaitanya Sravanthi celebrated iconic Bathukamma Festival in Kuwait

Telangana Chaitanya Sravanthi, TCS-Kuwait celebrated their unique iconic Bathukamma Festival in the evening on 4th October, 2019 at Fintas Wedding Hall, Kuwait with a large presence of its members and their families along with the invited guests.

The Bathukamma celebrations began with the lighting of the lamp by Indian Ambassador to Kuwait His Excellency Jeeva Sagar garu, President Sri K. Laxma Reddy, Smt & Sri Karthik Ramdoss, Smt & Sri Krishna Rao and Smt & Sri Manmohan Naidu. Followed by Telangana prayer song was sang by all participants by standing ovation. A devotional prayer song sang by children Achintya and Koushik Sharma. Later Master Koushik briefed in Telugu about bathukamma floral festival significance.

Sri. K. Laxma Reddy garu addressed with his presidential speech to the TCS members and guests briefing commemoration of five years of TCS-Kuwait Association since its formation with four aspirations of santhosham, soyee, shikshana and samskruti. He explained that Telangana people celebrating their festivals with enthusiastic participation by children and parents where TCS-Association is a platform to encourage all the participants.

Mr. Reddy highlighted that TCS-Kuwait is conducting sessions/seminars/workshops on personality development, business management, investment opportunities, financial management, health care, industrial/personal safety and job awareness training sessions etc. at free of cost to members/non-members as part of overall skill development.

Further, Mr. Reddy has shared TCS-Kuwait approach towards welfare of needy and distressed people who came to Kuwait on dubious employment. The Association members are kind enough to approach such grieved people, listen to them empathetically, providing ration to alleviate their starving. The Association further discussing with their companies, consulting Indian Embassy staff to help them. TCS-Kuwait supporting those needy people in timely manner such that they are rehabilitated with alternate job opportunities, reimbursing their penalties, purchasing air-tickets and monetary support for medical treatment back to India, to the possible extent. In this regard, TCS members and Indian Embassy staff whole-hearted efforts is highly commendable for their humanitarian service.

The president of TCS-Kuwait emphasized that there are many thousands of such distressed/deprived people in Kuwait alone and probably lakhs in the Gulf. He urged all Associations of gulf countries, respective embassies, Indian states and central government together have to augment skill develoment of youth and create self-employment in India itself, so that need of coming to Gulf can be eliminated. Whoever come to abroad as skilled workforce and professionals for employment should live in dignity and earn respect to India.

Council members Sanjeeva, Praveen and Kiran along with active supporting members together greeted all the members and guests on the occasion of bathukamma celebrations and Navarathrulu.

Ladies and children took part in playing bathukamma for over one hour while gents applauded and captured photo and video clips to share their near and dear. At one stage, men excited and played bathukamma. Finally, all couples took part as giant in the event before being bathukamma nimajjanam by 9 pm.

Best bathukammas were awarded with prizes followed by exchanged festival sattu pindi among all participants. Prizes were distributed among early bird members, best traditional dresses among children and elders, and best Telagana dishes besides best bathukammas.

Felicitated Sri. Jinna Ramakrishna Reddy, who worked for KNPC in Process Engineering Division and leaving for good after retirement. He was admired for his great contribution to TCS-Kuwait association formation and its growth.

Mr. Kiran gave vote thanks commending members coming in time and for their enthusiastic participation. Special applaud given to mahilalu for making excellent Rrangoli and bathukamma performance with filled with joy and devotion.
