Ministry denies ‘increasing thefts’ reports

The Interior Ministry’s Relations and Security Information Department denied reports claiming that thefts in residential areas are on the rise, adding that concerned authorities are working round the clock and are fully prepared and vigilant to ensure security and safety and counter any violation of the law. The department said that social media reports claiming an increase in thefts are inaccurate and lacks credibility. The department commented on a video of a house that was burgled, saying necessary legal action was taken by forensics and criminal detectives. In other news, detectives arrested a person who insulted God in a social media video, the interior ministry said.
